Don’t panic at the thought of splashing out on the latest trends for autumn and winter – those gorgeous pieces you bought for summer will last through to spring next year! No need to feel guilty about this summer’s purchases, just take a sneak peak into this autumn/winter’s collections and trends.
The top summer trends will be carrying through to when the snow will be falling. All you have to do is layer up and make your favourite summer pieces work for you this autumn/ winter.
Those floral pieces you invested in for the summer will serve you well with the trend continuing into autumn/winter. This winter, the trend is all about graphic, bold floral prints in every colour you can imagine.
It is all about layering them up for this winter, so put that silk flowy top with a pair of skinny jeans, and team it with a jacket or cardigan in a colour that will make the colour of the flowers in the top stand out. To complete this look, accessorize the outfit with a pair of pumps for the daytime, and heels for that dinner date.
That floral print dress will work wonders for you too. A leather jacket will change the look from pretty and girly to rock-chic, which is a super hot look on the catwalks for autumn/winter 2012.
Bright and Bold
Summer’s bold statement colors are also carrying through into the winter, particularly those party-popping reds, ready for the festive season. No matter what your style is, you can make this trend work to your advantage and stand out in the crowd.
If you’re feeling really adventurous, mix and match those bright and bold colors together to gain the maximum effect of this trend.
Blazers are back with a vengeance too, particularly the boyfriend blazer. All over the catwalks they are bold and bright, so smarten up that outfit and make a statement, and make everyone jealous while you’re at it.
You’ll be happy to know that your summer pastels will work in winter as well, with the addition of darker denim jeans and a layer or two.
Lavender in particular is a must next season, team with black and add lashings of lace and for that perfect winter look.
Also, don’t forget to mix and match your trends this winter, and create your own individual style.
