North London’s most popular football club has always upheld a respected atmosphere, regardless of speculations made about its local area.
Following the recent spat between Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie and Newcastle Goalkeeper, Tim Krul, a slightly negative picture has been painted of the Arsenal skipper. Local gunners fan, Matthew Jenkins, describes Persie as a “pretty down to earth guy” after meeting the Arsenal number 10, a contradiction to the portrayal of Van Persie since his altercation.
Despite the aggression on the pitch, the spectators remained calm and no home or away fans were provoking scraps. Loyal gunner, Emily Andes says, “the Emirates always has a friendly cheerful atmosphere, it has its own standard of excellence.”
The Emirates Stadium is renowned for being a very hospitable venue and hosts a variety of events, from football matches, music gigs, and business conferences.
