Finchley residents are gearing up for the annual sponsored walk in aid of the North London Hospice which is due to take place this Sunday, 14th October.
The seven-and-a-half mile walk starts at 10.30am outside East Finchley Tube Station and concludes at 1.00pm outside Westminster Station. Councillor John Marshall and many local doctors are leading the walk as they try to raise funds and make the public more aware of the yearly challenges the Hospice faces to stay open.
The North London Hospice specialises in helping people who have fell severely ill and often don’t have much longer to live. The Hospice provides a pivotal role in giving temotional, spiritual and practical support.
The Hospice needs 6 million a year to survive and the NHS pays only 10%, leaving the rest to donations and a few wealthy philanthropists.
